Using CAP Pitch at Chartwell Park

Rules and Guidelines

The CAP Pitch at Chartwell Park is located in a residential neighborhood where the population comprises mostly elderly retirees, and families with young children. This mix requires us to observe certain practices and extend specific courtesies. The rules and guidelines below were developed for this purpose.

At all times, please keep in mind that we are introducing a new game to Peoria. The success of our effort will be determined by the way we conduct ourselves. People’s judgment of the game will be largely based on their perception of us, its ambassadors.

Rules
All rules will be strictly enforced. Any violation will initially lead to suspension; subsequent repetition will lead to expulsion and denial of playing privileges.

Guidelines
Guidelines are intended to be advisory. They address specific behaviors that demonstrate our respect and consideration for neighborhood residents. Their observance is strongly encouraged.

Rules

  1. Littering is strictly prohibited. Teams and players must pick up all litter from the pitch and ground and deposit it in the trash can located by the children’s play area.
  2. Smoking on the field is not allowed. This is not only contrary to the health aspects that the game promotes, but is also offensive to spectators and children in the vicinity.
  3. Foul language and obscenities are not allowed. Cricket is a gentleman’s game and we should keep it so
  4. .
  5. Avoid loud conversations in non-English languages. Not only is this rude to your friends who may not know that language, but it will also attract undesirable reactions from spectators - something we must avoid.
  6. Unsportsmanlike conduct involving verbal and/or physical exchanges will not be tolerated.

Guidelines

  1. Parking on Willow Lake Drive is discouraged. Park well away from the entrance to Chartwell Park in the parking lots at either end of the street. This will allow families and elderly visitors to also visit Chartwell Park. Additionally, it will leave the street available for emergency vehicles.
  2. Be courteous and respectful to spectators and others using the park.
  3. Address restroom issues before coming to play. There are no restroom facilities at Chartwell Park.
  4. Bring your own water bottles and/or snacks. Make sure you properly dispose of leftovers in the trash.
  5. Each team should bring its own First Aid kit.
  6. Each team should bring its own playing equipment, including play balls. CAP will not provide any item.

Pitch Usage

  1. CAP will mark and prepare the pitch. Don’t make any other markings.
  2. Stumps should be planted outside the pitch area. Stumps at the bowler’s end may be placed in a wooden block (not provided by CAP).
  3. The pitch should never be physically altered.
